Post Treatment Care

Skin Needling

Your skin may feel warm to touch immediately after your procedure and 3-5 days later become a little dry and flaky. This is a completely normal process due to the dead skin cells being stimulated upwards.

  • Use post treatment kit day & night 3 days minimum

  • No makeup for 24hrs after treatment

  • Until sensitivity has completely subsided, avoid “active” skincare products containing Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Retinol (Vitamin A).

  • DO NOT apply spray tan or fake tanning creams for 1 week after the treatment.

  • Avoid hot or cold water – wash with tepid water

  • Avoid swimming pools and spas with multiple chemicals/chlorine and activities that cause excessive perspiration

  • Avoid sun exposure or excessive heat to the treated area for a minimum of 7 days after skin needling. The treated area is more prone to sunburn and pigmentation change (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation).

  • Keep the area covered and use a physical sunblock with a protection factor of 50+.

Chemical Peels

DO:

  • Treat the skin gently (avoid using wash cloths and facial sponges)

  • Allow the skin to peel naturally, do not pick

  • Limit time outdoors (minimise sun exposure)

  • SPF must be liberally applied and worn everyday, even when cloudy. If in direct sunlight, SPF should be reapplied liberally every two hours.

DON’T:

  • Do not expose the skin to sun or sun lamps

  • Do not use leave on AHAs, BHAs or physical exfoliants for one week following a chemical peel treatment

  • Do not use wash off AHAs and BHA cleansers for 3 days post peel (eg. Surface Radiance Cleanse)

  • Avoid all make-up for a minimum of 12 hours after treatment

  • Avoid self tan for one week post peel

  • Avoid heat treatments (eg. sauna), swimming and exercising for 24 hours post peel

Lash Lift

In the first 24 hours after the treatment:

  • don’t wear mascara or any eye makeup

  • don’t wear contact lenses

  • don’t get your eyelashes wet

  • don’t use any products on your lashes

  • don’t rub your eyes

  • don’t go swimming

  • don’t engage in activities that cause excessive sweating

  • don’t go to saunas

  • don’t take long showers and try to keep your lashes dry

  • don’t sleep on your face

  • don’t use oil-based products

Water and various products can break the chemical bonds and reverse the effects of your eyelash perm. Once the 24 hours are through, your lashes have hardened in the curled position and you can relax.

Extra tip: If you’ve had both lash lift and tint aftercare also includes staying out of the sunlight throughout the lash lift lifespan. Sunlight exposure can speed up the process of lash tint fading.

Brow Lamination

Brow lamination does not permanently set your hairs in your desired, brushed up position. It breaks down the bonds in your hair so that you can easily manipulate them into the look you want. All you’ll need to do is brush them back into place with a spoolie brush in the morning to get them back to that fluffy finish

DO:

  • Twice weekly use a hair mask such as olaplex at nighttime and remove in the morning.

  • Using an eyebrow conditioning serum daily will help to keep hairs sleek and glossy, avoiding curly brows after lamination.

DON’T:

  • Do not get your eyebrows wet for at least 24 hours after the treatment.

  • Do not have a hot bath/shower or use a sauna, steam room or swimming pool for 24 hours.

  • Use SPF to protect your eyebrows from direct sunlight as this will weaken the perm effect and fade the tint colour

  • Chlorine and certain skincare products will shorten the effects of the perm and tints.
